nursing, environmental health, covid-19Abstract
The article seeks to reflect on the accelerated change in the epidemiological profile of the global population, which has brought up discussions about several determinant factors in the health-disease process. In the same direction, environmental factors and their interface in human health are highlighted, mainly due to preventable health damage and the impact of the emergence of new diseases, such as Covid-19. Studies point out that the approximation between human beings and wild animals promoted by cultural aspects and by the degradation of natural environments and biodiversity, has provided adequate conditions for the emergence and spread of new diseases. In this context, the authors point out that the training of nurses has not given the necessary support to meet this new demand and indicate the inclusion of Environmental Health content as a possible way to fill this formative gap, so that these professionals can respond up to demands and future challenges.
