Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • AUTHORS: Ph.D is mandatory for at least one of the authors.

  • CONTENT: The manuscript is original and unpublished and it is not under review by other journals. Special cases should be reported.

  • LANGUAGE: The manuscript may be in Portuguese, Spanish, French or English. Texts in Portuguese, Spanish or French should also contain title and abstract in English. Texts in English should also contain title and abstract in Portuguese.

  • AUTHORSHIP: All authors must be registered in the system, stating: Full name, e-mail, ORCID, their degree and the institution where they obtained the title, complete institutional link containing institution, function, city and country.

  • ANEX 1: The text of the manuscript, in docx, without any identification of the authors, host institution, or sponsoring agency.

  • ANEX 2: Identification of authors and other comments: For each author, Full Name, Email, ORCID, their degree and the university where they obtained the title, complete institutional link containing institution, function, city, and country. Include, when applicable, acknowledgments and sponsoring agency. Any other information that authors deem necessary for publishers to know.

  • ANEX 3: The indication of 03 referees without conflicts of interest with the submitted work: Full Name, E-Mail, a justification for the nomination, and Online Curriculum (or institutional link page).

  • ANEX 4: Images contained in the work: file jpg / 300 dpi (present, if necessary, authorization to use the images).

  • FORMATTING: Citations and references are formatted according to the standards of the Fronteiras (http://periodicos.unievangelica.edu.br/index.php/fronteiras/about/submissions#author_guidelines).

Author Guidelines

GENERAL GUIDELINES

  • Before submitting, the author must be aware of the Focus, Scope and Editorial Process of Fronteiras.
  • Submissions in the Journal Fronteiras: Journal of Social, Technological and Environmental Science must be carried out through the system and comply with the following specifications:
    • The manuscript may be in Portuguese, Spanish, French or English. Texts in Portuguese, Spanish or French should also contain title and abstract in English. Texts in English should also contain title and abstract in Portuguese.
    • The manuscript must be original and unpublished, and not been under review by other journals. Special cases should be reported.
  • For submission of manuscripts it is necessary that the author(s) be:
    • For submissions until 01/31/2019:
      • master(s) or
      • Master's degree in co-authorship with a master(s).
    • For submissions from 02/01/2019:
      • Ph.D. or
      • Ph.D. Candidates.
      • Ph.D. Students, just for submission of book reviews.
    • For submissions from 01/12/2019:
      • The lead author must be Ph.D.
    • For submissions from 01/05/2020:
      • At least one of the authors must be Ph.D.
  • At the time of submission must be informed for all authors, obligatorily and through their inclusion in the platform: Full name, email, ORCID, their degree and the university where they obtained the title, complete institutional link containing institution, function, city, and country.
  • The manuscript and revised files must be uploaded to the Fronteiras digital platform.

TYPES OF WORK AND ITS SPECIFICITIES

  • ARTICLES
    • Original texts resulting from advanced research or theoretical reflection.
    • Minimum of 5000 and maximum of 10,000 words, including footnotes.
  • TECHNICAL, EDUCATIONAL OR SCIENTIFIC NOTES
    • Communications on teaching experiences in Social, Technological, Environmental Sciences or Health
    • Maximum of 2,000 words, including footnotes.
  • BOOK REVIEWS
    • With the focus on books published in the last three years.
    • It should not only be a sequential description but a critical analysis of the work and its relation to other works.
    • It must contain an original title and citation of references that dialogue with the main book.
    • Maximum of 1000 words. 
  • INTERVIEWS
    • Made by the Editors and Editorial Board

FORMATTING

  • TITLE
    • Text in Portuguese, Spanish or French, must also contain the title in English.
    • Text in English should also contain the title in Portuguese
  • KEYWORDS
    • Between 3 to 5 keywords separated by semicolons (;)
      • Text in Portuguese, Spanish or French, must contain keywords in the language of the text and in English.
      • Text in English should contain keywords in English and Portuguese.
  • ABSTRACT
    • Between 150 and 300 words in the language of the text.
      • Text in Portuguese, Spanish or French should contain an abstract in the language of the text and in English.
      • Text in English should contain the abstract in English and Portuguese.
  • VISUAL
    • Text Body: Arial font size 12, single spacing between lines, double spacing between paragraphs.
    • Titles and Subtitles: They must be numbered sequentially, indicating the sections. Arial font size 12.
    • Summaries and footnotes: Arial font size 10, simple spacing between lines.
    • Direct quotations with more than 3 lines: Arial font size 10, indentation of 4cm in the paragraph, double spacing between paragraphs.
  • QUOTE IN TEXT
    • In the case of a single author:
      • Pereira (1991) or (Pereira 1991)
    • In the case of two authors:
      • Pereira and Silva (1992) or (Pereira & Silva 1992)
    • In cases when more than two authors are cited, only the first should be mentioned:
      • Pereira et al. (1993) or (Pereira et al. 1993).
  • REFERENCES
    • All references must be accurate and only quotes that appear in the text should be referenced. Unpublished work should not be cited unless it has already been accepted for publication. This case should be referred to as "in press". Unpublished data should be cited as "unpublished observations." References should be placed at the end of the manuscript in alphabetical order according to the surname of the first author.
