Resumo: Este artigo tem o objetivo de contextualizar historicamente o feminismo, demonstrando como o período e o ambiente histórico influenciaram na origem de diferentes “ondas” e correntes para representar o seu conceito, o que também influenciou a conquista de direitos pelas mulheres, tendo início no século XIX até os dias atuais.

WHAT IS FEMINISM? THE FEMINIST MOVEMENT’S HISTORICAL PROGRESS AND THE ACHIEVEMENT OF WOMEN’S RIGHTS

Abstract: This article aims to contextualize historically feminism, demonstrating how a period of time and historic environment influenced the origin of different "waves" and currents to represent its concept, which also influenced the achievement of women rights, beginning in the XIX century until now.
