Protocol of handling and processing of clothes by healthcare students

Abstract

The present work aims to identify handling and processing protocols of academic coats of health courses at the University of São Paulo-Campus Flamboyant. Aims to describe the protocols for use of protective barriers and identify academic knowledge in relation to the processing, storage and transport of the coat. Reference has been made to the Ethics Committee on research of the University of São Paulo, and after the respondent consent filed and signed an informed consent. The sample was probability for convenience and consisting of 20 first academics of the two last years of each course who accept to participate in the study a total of 160 individuals, the courses of dentistry, nursing, nutrition, pharmacy, physiotherapy, biomedicine, psychology and radiology. The results were totaled independent academic travel and pointed out that students ' 93.1 don't come out of their academic activities wearing the coat, 40.6 use the coat of 1 to 2 times without washing, 83.1 wash coat separated from common clothing of 46.3 academics assess their attitudes in relation to the processing of lab coats as good, 59.4 believe that the coat is clean after washing at home. The predominant model in Scrubs in use was no collar and no handle. Through the results was prepared a single protocol of handling and processing the lab coat regardless of academic activity to facilitate and make the same clean and safe for daily care.
