GÊNERO E SEXUALIDADE NAS AULAS DE EDUCAÇÃO FÍSICA NO ENSINO MÉDIO:

UMA REVISÃO BIBLIOGRÁFICA

Abstract

This article aims to analyze scientific publications that discuss issues of gender and sexuality in the context of Physical Education classes in secondary education, through a qualitative bibliographic review. School Physical Education, by working directly with the body and movement, constitutes a privileged space for problematizing social norms, identities, and power relations present in the school environment. The research was conducted through searches in the SciELO and CAPES Periodicals databases, using descriptors related to gender, sexuality, Physical Education, and secondary education, with no time delimitation. Four national scientific articles, published in Brazilian journals in the fields of Education and Physical Education, were analyzed. The results show that traditional pedagogical practices tend to reinforce stereotypes, inequalities, and silencing, whereas critical approaches promote the appreciation of diversity, the confrontation of prejudice, and the construction of inclusive educational practices. It is concluded that discussing gender and sexuality in Physical Education is essential for students’ integral and civic education.
