Abstract

Autism, also known as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), involves a series of changes that manifest early. An impairment of cognitive and social activities are observed in individuals who have ASD, which directly interferes with their learning at school. Investigating the profile of the teachers who work with these students is essential to know more about the students of this public. In this context, the objective of this research is to investigate the profile of teachers of autistic students in a private school. For this, a qualitative-quantitative research was carried out with teachers from a private school in the municipality of Iguatu, located in the interior of the state of Ceará. Data collection took place through the application of a questionnaire, with data expressed in the form of graphs, tables and word clouds. From the information obtained, it can be concluded that there is a great diversification in the profile of the teachers of the investigated school, which encompasses aspects such as training, age and time of teaching experience, which contributes to the autistic students having diversified experiences arising from each educator.
