Abstract

The present work discusses the management and improvement of processes, as well as the different tools used in the rationalization activity. The objective of this article is to contribute to the theoretical discussion about the development of a methodology with an interdisciplinary character within the management by processes from the perspective of uniting exhaustively known tools in the literature for the modeling and improvement of processes. Thus, this article proposes a broader view of rationalization as an integrated process of several approaches and not an isolated activity, also seeking to reduce subjectivity in the application of techniques. For this purpose, the works of some authors on rationalization tools and techniques are presented and discussed in this text, as well as the proposal of a methodology integrating lean manufacturing, six sigma, ergonomics and the study of times and movements.
