INDIGENOUS QUESTION: EDUCATION, RESISTANCE AND PRECONCEPTION IN THE DIDACTIC BOOK

This work seeks to highlight the indigenist theme in the educational field. In order to do so, the present article seeks to understand the ideological bases for indigenous subjugation, analyzing the historical context of indigenous resistance, identifying the public policies regarding the educational issue of indigenism and finally establishing a link between Portuguese domination and contemporary school. This work also presents a problem about the indigenous representation in the educational field, trying to analyze the way in which the Indian, its history and culture are inserted in the textbook of a series of seventh year of regular primary education. The methodology used was a bibliographical research, defined by the listing and collection of data and information from published works on the subject, such as books, academic articles and the Federal Constitution and the analysis of the textbook.
