UTILIZAÇÃO DO STOP-BANG PARA INVESTIGAÇÃO DA SÍNDROME DA APNEIA OBSTRUTIVA DO SONO: REVISÃO DE LITERATURA

Resumo

Objetivo: O objetivo do presente estudo foi realizar uma revisão de literatura sobre a utilização do STOP-Bang como ferramenta para a identificação do risco de Síndrome da Apneia Obstrutiva do Sono (SAOS). Fonte de dados: Tratou-se de uma revisão de literatura, a partir das bases de dados Scielo, MedLine e Cochrane. Foram incluídos artigos em inglês e português, no período de 2010 e 2017, realizados com seres humanos portadores de SAOS que tenham utilizado o STOP-Bang para investigação diagnóstica. Síntese de dados: Foram incluídos 20 estudos com indivíduos diagnosticados com SAOS. O STOP-Bang é um instrumento útil e simples para triagem e categorização da gravidade da SAOS, apresentando boa sensibilidade e especificidade quando relacionado ao exame padrão-ouro, a Polissonografia. A pontuação elevada no STOP-Bang, maior ou igual a, 5 a 8 pontos, indica alta probabilidade de SAOS, de moderada a grave. Conclusões: O STOP-Bang se mostra como um instrumento prático e útil para identificação do risco da SAOS, apresentando boa sensibilidade e especificidade quando relacionado ao exame padrão-ouro.
