Abstract

Cloning stands out for its wide applicability, which can be divided into reproductive and therapeutic, both relying on procedures that use similar techniques, however, with different purposes. It must be properly known by students of Biological Sciences, which is expected, especially when considering concluding students. Given the above, this research aims to identify the profile and knowledge of final students of a Biological Sciences course on cloning. For this, a quali-quantitative research was carried out, conducted in a public Higher Education Institution, in the state of Ceará. The target audience were students in the final semesters of the course (8th and 9th semesters). To obtain the data, a questionnaire with objective and subjective questions was applied, meeting the ethical and legal aspects that govern the research. It is possible to conclude that students have a varied profile, which stands out in relation to age. And, with regard to knowledge about cloning, it appears that it is regular, a fact highlighted in the presentation of definitions.
