Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- Submission complies with all journal requirements.
Author Guidelines
TYPES OF CONTRIBUTIONS
- Original articles.
- a) Original studies based on unpublished research, which provide results and relevant knowledge.
- ABSTRACT: in Portuguese and English. Maximum of 250 words, placed just after the title of the article, containing a brief description of the objectives, methodology, results and conclusions.
- KEYWORDS: in Portuguese and English (maximum 4).
- INTRODUCTION: It should contain a contextualization of the problem, with a brief bibliographical survey and written in a concise manner, and conclude with the objective of the research.
- MATERIAL AND METHODS: ("Description of sources" in social studies and humanities). This part should describe the human and material resources used in the study, describing their characteristics and selection criteria, as well as the methods, techniques or sources. It is essential to provide the technical and bibliographic information necessary for the experiment, described to be replicated by another researcher.
- RESULTS: the results should recount, but not interpret the observations and discoveries made with the resources and methods that were used in the study.
- DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS: Authors should interpret the results, associate the data found with other publications based on similar experiments, explain the relevance of the methodology, and provide reasons for which the results may be valid, establish possible applications and provide suggestions on future studies and new hypotheses around the question examined.
- BIBLIOGRAPHICAL REFERENCES: Only authors and studies mentioned in the text should appear. You must follow The Vancouver style for in-text citation.
- ACKNOWLEDGMENTS: When necessary, mention any individuals whose intellectual contribution to the article does not justify their inclusion as authors, centers and / or public, private or commercial entities that contributed to the study.
- BIBLIOGRAPHIC REVIEW.
It is a systematic review of bibliographical references (books, articles, doctoral theses, annals of congresses) in a certain period of time on a highly delimited topic and using a certain method of selection. Preference will be given to research articles that focus on current topics today.
Organization
This type of article should preferably contain the following sections:
- Summary: in Portuguese and English. Maximum 200 words. No structure and placed after the title of the article.
- Keywords: in Portuguese and English (maximum 4).
- Introduction: Introduction of the researched topic, study´s justification and delimitation. Brief critical analysis of other bibliographical surveys carried out on the topic of defined study.
- Results: Presentation of results grouped by categories.
- Discussion: Interpretative analysis results.
- Final considerations
- References.
- Summaries of doctoral theses
Abstracts of doctoral theses submitted must have a maximum of 450 words and contain the following information:
- Full title.
- Date of defense (day / month / year).
- Full name of the author (s) and supervisor (s), position and institution with which they are affiliated.
- Email address and postal address of the author for correspondence.
- The title and keywords should be in the original language of the thesis and in English.
- Attention
- Original abstract of an unpublished study that provides relevant information, having the potential to elicit research or actions that impact the knowledge area.
- Summary: in Portuguese and English. Maximum 1000 words, placed just after the title. It should be organized and contain a brief description of the objectives, methodology, results and conclusions.
- Keywords: in Portuguese and English (maximum 4).
FORMATING GUIDELINES
Submit a manuscript for publication in the International Journal of Motion Science and Rehabilitation for preliminary evaluation, the text must have the minimum format and content conditions described below:
- Language: Manuscripts must be submitted in Portuguese or English (in the latter case, a translation of the manuscript into Portuguese must also be provided).
- Title: This is a brief summary of the content. It must be accurate and accurately represent the study, the title should be translated into English and also be centered in bold in the font size of 14.
- Authors: full name, institution, basic graduation and city of authors; name, e-mail, of the corresponding author. Indicate whether the study was funded by any institution or was previously presented at a conference; in the latter case, add the name, date, and location.
- Summary: Brief summary of the content that should include the entire essential elements in which can be understood and evaluated briefly. It should be written in clear and direct language, indicating the purpose, aims and results of the study. A translation into English should be included.
- Keywords (4): must follow an established order and will help index the title in databases. Keywords should be translated into English.
- Maximum number of manuscript pages: 16 pages for original research articles, including bibliography, tables and figures. The text should be written with a spacing of 1.5 lines.
- File: Use Times New Roman, 12 Point in Word. It should have a margin of 3 centimeters on all sides. The titles of the different sections in which the article is divided must be left-aligned and written in bold with a 12-point font (without underline). Pages or document submitted should not have text in headers or footers.
- Illustrations and figures: All illustrations (graphics) should be optimized in .jpg, .png or .gif format, accompanied by an explanatory title. High quality graphics and images will only be inserted into the publication template.
- Charts and tables: must have a title or statement in their content; if explanations are required using symbols, acronyms, or abbreviations, they should be at the bottom of the table or chart. All tables and graphs should be numbered and placed within the text at the appropriate location, not at the end of the article.
- List of bibliographic references: All authors and references mentioned in the text should be included in a list at the end of the article. The format of bibliographical references is based on the Vancouver guidelines.
